EVE is still unexpectedly locking up and freezing under both Cider and Wine.
I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

CCP Snorlax wrote:My primary focus now is to improve the experience on the Mac, and offering the option to run under Wine was the first step in that. I feel I have a better chance of fixing issues in Wine, and getting fixes out quickly. I will require your help, though, especially with stability issues that may be difficult (or too time consuming) for me to replicate inhouse.
The first step is to get me logs - in the launcher settings, enable 'Run clients with logging' - this will start LogLite when you hit play. If you experience a crash, go to LogLite, save out the logs and file a bug report, giving as much detail as you can (context can be very important) and attach the log file. Put my name in the title so I get the bug report routed to me promptly and I'll do my best to figure it out. Can we get the old shield and armor effects back in the interim? I've enabled "Run clients with logging" and when I get the next crash or lockup I'll file a bug report as you requested. Right now I'm running into so many post-Citadel glitches that I'm not sure that I should be adding to the growing list of massive items that have already been reported.
I already reported this in the main thread, but this just popped up when attempting to activate the Garmur Waschi Uprising 'Combat' SKIN (interesting enough, there's no preview either): Invalid item - Garmur Waschi Uprising 'Combat' SKIN (Permanent) is not a SKIN license.
I hope they sell Red Bull in Iceland...

Addendum: You guys may want to change the attachment size limit (15MB) as this log came in at 19.2MB. I cut it in half and sent the latter portion to you (hopefully that's the part you were after). Did you file that bug report yet? Haven't found the logs... Yesterday. EBR-78102, if that helps. Subject: "Attn: CCP Snorlax, Citadel Day 01: Mac Crash"

CCP Snorlax wrote:Sorry, no log attached to that report. It's usually best to put such a large file in a Dropbox or Google Drive and add the link to the report. FML. I don't think I need to point out how ridiculous this is... You can't add the log file in-game, so you have to first file a bug report, re-open it in a browser window, login - and then you can add it the log file. Except you can't because there's a 15MB attachment limit. So we'll manually edit it down (assuming we guessed the correct parts) and then upload it. Except it doesn't show up, so I'm now relegated to setting up either Dropbox or Google Drive to get the file to you. Which I don't have anymore because I figured with the browser accepting it I didn't need to keep it and the three subsequent crashes were all under different circumstances.
I'm seriously debating whether burning the log to a CD and sending it via carrier pigeon at this point would be faster... The irony is that I don't think anything specific from Citadel is causing this, but with the mass of additional features, changes and new bugs that have been introduced with Citadel I think it's exacerbating the underlying problem.
I'm going to continue playing around with the graphical and audio settings because I think some of these may be at fault.

Overview glitch. When warping to a mission (Worlds Collide in this example) - everything appears thousands of km away (despite the fact that when you click a ship or gate it shows the correct distance with the object). When you attempt to target a ship (which fails, obviously), it then updates to the correct distances within a short time thereafter.

Citadel Mac Crash Log Session 01: 00:41:67 before crash. Froze up just as I was in-warp to a station after completing a mission (Rogue Drones). As previously, ship (Kronos) appeared with the base SKIN. On docking, the correct SKIN (Police) was present. Session 02: [Disabled Shadows] 00:01:00, in-progress...

Klinger wrote:I'm doing some missions for the first time since citadel release, and i also notice the "overview" problem where it sometimes takes more then 10minutes to update. NPC's long destroyed still stay in the overview with a wrong distance. Targets do show the correct distance however. Even after warping out i'm still seeing mission targets on my overview. After jumping or docking it's updated.
Edit: i'm playing on the Mac client (El capitan) As a work-around I found that if you switch Overview tabs this usually forces the correct distances to reveal themselves. And if you have't already, switch to Wine. It offers superior performance and stability over Cider.

Dybbuch wrote:1) The previously dealt with IGB Crash bug seems to be back with a vengeance .. 2) Camera Tracking is erratic ... occasionally stuttering so much as to make gameplay difficult 3) all of my accounts seem to now have 'opportunities' restarted, notifications all turned off .. drone groups lost etc etc .. If you haven't already, try making the switch to Wine. It is literally night and day in terms of performance and stability over Cider. If you've already made the switch to Wine there's an option to purge previous Wine installations and start fresh (I experienced a lot of anomalies and bizarre behaviour until I did this). You can also now duplicate your client settings from Cider to Wine.

CCP Snorlax, just an quick update into my Wine experience under Citadel. I had an uneventful session after Wednesday's patch, quit and resumed another session a few hours later. When I logged into the hangar my ship wasn't present (it did show me as it being active) - and I was 0m above the docking platform. When I left the ship, nothing happened (no change to my pod, no indication in Inventory that I'd left the ship) - but I could scroll back to see the hexagonal wireframe 'hub' of the docking portion outside of what is normally rendered. Despite repeat attempts to correct this through quitting and restarting and changing various graphic settings, the problem persisted. I then verified the files and cleared Wine which completely fixed the problem. I can also confirm that when you copy Cider to Wine settings you're overriding your screen preferences, and after doing this it will always launch in fullscreen.
Addendum: Just saw this, so I guess it's unrelated.
